Types of steel plate cutting tools

The types of steel plate cutting tools can be divided into flame cutting equipment, laser cutting equipment, wire cutting equipment, shearing machines, plasma cutting, and ultra-high pressure water cutting, as follows:

1. Flame cutting equipment

Flame cutting equipment for steel plate cutting is low-cost and a means of cutting thick metal plates, but it has its shortcomings in thin plate cutting. Compared with plasma, flame cutting has a much larger heat affected zone and greater thermal deformation. In order to cut accurately and effectively, operators need to possess advanced technology to timely avoid thermal deformation of the metal plate during the cutting process.

2. Laser cutting equipment

Steel plate cutting processing laser cutting laser cutting equipment can cut stainless steel below 4mm. Adding oxygen to the laser beam can cut 20mm thick carbon steel, but after oxygen cutting, a thin oxide film will form on the cutting surface. The thickness of the cutting can be increased to 20mm, but the size error of the cutting components is relatively large. The price of laser cutting equipment is quite expensive, about 1.5 million yuan or more.

3. Wire cutting equipment

Wire cutting, electrical discharge, wire cutting, abbreviated as wire cutting. It has developed on the basis of electrical discharge perforation and forming machining. It not only promotes the application of electrical discharge machining, but also replaces it in some aspects. Nowadays, wire cutting machines account for the majority of electric discharge machines.

4. Plate shearing machine

A plate shearing machine is a machine that uses a moving upper blade and a fixed lower blade to apply shear force to various thicknesses of metal plates with reasonable blade gaps, causing the plates to fracture and separate according to the required size. Steel plate cutting and shearing machine is a type of forging machinery, mainly used in the metal processing industry.

5. Plasma cutting

Plasma cutting machine is a processing method that uses the heat of a high-temperature plasma arc to melt (and evaporate) the metal part or part at the cutting edge of the workpiece, and uses the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove molten metal to form a cutting edge.

6. Ultra high pressure water cutting

Ultra high pressure water cutting, also known as water jet or water jet, is the process of producing high-energy (380MPa) water flow from ordinary water after multi-stage pressurization, and then passing it through a very thin ruby nozzle( Φ 0.1-0.35mm, jet cutting at a speed of nearly kilometers per second, this cutting method is called ultra-high pressure water cutting.
